History

Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live was originally established in late 2018 under the control of Raycom-Legacy Content Co., a joint venture of Raycom Sports and Legacy Motorsports Events, and held its first full season of shows in 2019, featuring 23 shows held across North America. A second tour was added to the 2020 season, taking place across various arena venues in Europe. This tour would run throughout the winter, while the North American tour would be held up into the early spring. After the COVID-19 pandemic put the entire monster truck industry on hold, Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live ceased operations for the time being. However, the trucks featured in the tour would be featured in the Hot Wheels Ultimate Drive-Thru, which ran from December 2020 to April 2021. Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live resumed operations in August 2021. The tour would also hold their first-ever show in Qatar that December. The following year, Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live resumed hosting two tours, being held in North America and Europe, respectively, and soon introduced its Glow Party gimmick. In 2024, Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live would host their first ever stadium show, as well as the first ever dirt show for the league.

Details

Each event features 8 trucks, similar to the Monster Jam arena lineups used in arenas. The shows are run on a concrete floor track that includes ramps and crush cars, similar to former Thunder Nationals format. Before the show, a "Crash Zone" is held, allowing fans to get up close to the drivers and trucks. Each show consists of five different competitions, being the donut, wheelie, long jump, racing (which was eventually removed later), and freestyle competitions (which regularly has 5 of the 7 competing trucks perform). Additional entertainment is included during intermission, such as FMX riders and transforming robots. After each event, the "Titan Cup" is awarded to the event's overall champion.
